November in Placencia always brings a sense of renewal. The sea breeze feels a little softer, the sunsets a bit richer, and the buzz of anticipation hums through the peninsula as locals prepare to welcome back our beloved snowbirds and repeat visitors. Whether you’ve been coming to Placencia for decades or just a few years, this season promises plenty of delightful surprises — all while keeping that easygoing charm that makes this little slice of Belize feel like home.

New path
A New Path Up the Peninsula
If you love to explore on foot, you’re in for a treat. Over the summer, crews have been diligently constructing a brand-new pedestrian footpath that now connects the northern neighborhoods of Maya Beach, Surfside, and Seine Bight. This beautifully constructed walkway runs alongside the main road, offering a safe, scenic, and pedestrian-friendly route for joggers, walkers, and anyone who loves to take in the sights at a slower pace. The plan is for the path to extend all the way south and connect to Placencia’s famous sidewalk which would make it easier than ever to move between communities and soak in the laid-back coastal lifestyle.
Placencia Beach Club: Fresh Look, New Vibe
The beloved Beach Club has leveled up in all the right ways. This season, in addition to hosting the Rotary Club’s weekly Bingo, they are unveiling a refreshed design, extended hours, and Agave, an air-conditioned Tequila & Margarita Lounge. With the new hours (open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.), guests can now linger longer, enjoying everything from lazy afternoon cocktails to moonlit beach dinners.
Despite the upgrades, the Beach Club hasn’t lost its signature laid-back charm — the one that keeps regulars coming back year after year. Expect the same friendly faces, barefoot luxury, and breezy atmosphere, just with a touch more sparkle.
Bullock Island
Former NBA player, Reggie Bullock, debuts his 5-acre private island to the public. A mere 20-minute boat transfer away, the island features a full-service bar and plenty of comfortable areas to relax. Snorkel, fish, or even shoot a few hoops on the basketball court. Free daily shuttles depart and return from the Placencia Peir, and the island fee is just $20bz pp making this a cheap and easy daytrip you’ll have to check out this season.
Dining Delights
Placencia’s dining scene has always been dynamic, and this season it’s richer than ever. Sterling’s Steakhouse has arrived in the heart of the village, bringing a new note of relaxed sophistication to the peninsula. With prime cuts, expertly crafted cocktails, and an intimate atmosphere, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to linger over a glass of red and good conversation.
Return visitors will remember the old Cha Chi’s Pizza complex was under renovations and new ownership last year. We are happy to see this restaurant and lounge enter a new era as Chicken Joe’s. They’ve kept the pizza ovens and live music at night, but added a fresh look and new menu.
Meanwhile, Los Porticos’ very own onsite restaurant, the beloved Dolce Vita, is marking its 22nd season with a complete kitchen remodel and expanded dining room. Expect the same authentic Italian warmth and flavor you know and love, now served in a refreshed, more spacious setting.
Some Things Never Change
Placencia continues to grow and evolve, but never at the expense of its authenticity. This November, as you walk the new paths, sip at new lounges, and savor new dishes, you’ll find that the heart of the peninsula — that friendly, unhurried rhythm that first drew you here — is stronger than ever. We hope you enjoy these new touches around town designed to make life in paradise a little more comfortable, connected, and exciting. Welcome back to your tropical home-away-from-home as we roll into another sunny season together.
