SNORKELING

The tours leave at 9am and return by 4pm. The full day snorkeling trips include lunch. Our guides will snorkel with you and are trained to teach beginners. The groups are small (10 people or less). Life jackets, water and ice are always on board. Two popular trips are:

INNER REEF ($75.00US per person):

Laughing Bird Caye National Park and Lark Range: Our recommendation, and our most popular snorkeling tour, the Inner Reef, is a 20-30 minute boat ride from the resort. The first stop is usually the pristine palm studded Laughing Bird Caye National Park. The beautiful, virgin beaches and nearby Coral Reef, provide an excellent snorkeling site for the beginner. The Inner Reef offers protected waters, a large variety of soft and hard corals and a multitude of tropical fish.

OUTER REEF SNORKEL TOURS ($85.00US per person):

These all day snorkel tours usually go to the Silk Cayes, three small coral cayes located on top of the main Barrier Reef. Snorkeling on the Outer Reef is more dramatic than the Inner Reefs with bigger walls, larger fish and more ocean ecology. These cayes are coral sand cayes with beautiful beaches. It takes approximately one hour to reach these destinations. Cost includes snorkel gear and lunch.

MONKEY RIVER JUNGLE TOUR

($65.00US - $70.00US per person):

A half-hour boat ride takes you to Monkey River Village at the mouth of a lush river. Here we pick up your Monkey River guide who will lead you on the jungle trails. Howler Monkeys are usually sighted, as well as iguanas, crocodiles, turtles and many species of birds. Lunch is scheduled at Alice’s Restaurant. The return to Placencia takes you through a maze of mangroves and lagoons, where you may see manatees. The price includes the park fees but does not include lunch.

COCKSCOMB BASIN WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

($85.00US per person):
The world’s first sanctuary created specifically for the elusive jaguar. You will register at Maya Center, a picturesque Mayan village where you may visit a Mayan Crafts shop.
